The Machine Polish or Machine Buff Process in Detail.

1. Starting with a good thorough wash including door shuts, engine clean & degrease, scrub wheel arches and sills.

2. Secondly Clay Bar whole car removing all environmental contaminants. Either using a coarse or fine grade clay bar, or if necessary, both. For the paint refinishing service, rather than clay baring the car to remove contaminants we need to flat the paint more to remove the fine layer of orange peel effect from your paint. Higher end manufacturers do this anyway on their higher end cars but not to the standard it could be so you may not require this step.

3. Wash car again removing clay and contaminants left behind by clay bar.

4. Machine Polish whole car with Farecla Advanced G3 Liquid Compound. This removes all possible scratches without removing as much paint as other comparable hand use commercial products such as T-Cut or Autoglym’s Paint Renovator.

5. Car is washed again to remove all traces of the previously used compound.

6. Machine Polish the whole car again, this time with Farecla G10 Advanced Finishing Compound. This is an extremely fine grade compound which polishes the surface of the paint to a super high gloss finish. We finally rub the compound by hand ensuring any swirl marks or holograms left by the orbital buffer are completely removed.

7. Wash whole car again, including door shuts, engine clean & degrease, scrub wheel arches and sills. Ensuring all traces of compounds are removed, dry with a fine microfibre synthetic chamois.

8. Wax/Polish car with your chosen polish. You can choose from a normal Fluoropolymer/carbon based AutoSmart car wax, high purity Carnauba Palm Wax, Colour Magic type car wax. We also polish all other possible areas including door shuts, sills, boot and bonnet shuts. If your not sure which is the best polish for your paint, you can just let us decide for you and tell you upon collection.

9. Clean & polish windows in and out, buff and polish all head and tail light clusters. Including any chrome (real or plastic).

10. Wax wheels then clean and dress tyres.

On top of this you can also request an interior valet to fully finish off your cars cosmetic appearance.

Prices for the above service range between £ 85 and £360 depending on the size and the needs of your vehicles painted surface area.

This is an ultra professional service and you should not allow anyone to conduct this service unless they are very experienced auto body repair professionals or a highly experienced professional valeter.

All Part Of The Service

We have the ability to mix any colour paint in the world so once your machine polish is finished for No Extra Charge we’ll go round your car and look for any chips or scratches which might benefit from being touched up.

T-Cut Your Car

OK, T cutting your car on a Sunday yourself is fine if you have a few scratches or slightly faded paint and you just want to put some life back into it.  However, should you go to a professional valeting company and they use T-Cut, walk away very fast as they are complete amateurs and don’t know what they are doing.

The professionals use compounds like AutoSmart R1, R2, R3 or like us Farecla G3 & G6 and with a machine buffer or Dual Orbital polisher. Also avoid valeters who claim to use fancy compounding products from Auto Glym, Meguiars, Mothers and so on. Most of them make excellent waxes and paint sealers but are a long way away from being the market leaders in machine polishing compounds.

You can achieve a good result with T-Cut but be prepared to have the whole day taken up and have plenty of fluids on stand by because it is long and grueling work and you’ll work quite a sweat up.  You’ll have trouble removing tougher scratches too.

example of machine polshing nottingham1It really depends on what result your after, we can work absolute magic on all paints and most scratches. From 20 year old faded red paint gone pink to brand new paint with the manufacturers finish orange peel standard finish. We can any car look stunning again.

Also as a part of the service we have the ability to mix any colour paint in the world so we’ll also look at any area’s that just need touching up a little too.
